The excitement was contagious at our 35th Anniversary celebration! It was a reunion as well as old friends greeted one another and reminisced about their time in Haiti. Walker Gaulding had the crowd laughing out loud sharing stories of young Leon and the beginnings of the ministry, while Pat Smith-Headley shared how they overcome the challenges of those early years in starting the sponsorship program. Bob and FloAnne O’Brien provided a memorable overview of all that had been accomplished in construction and growing the schools, and two graduates of the Cite Soleil primary school, Jameson Charles and Peterson Jean, shared how their lives were changed through the ministry. The highlight was Leon doing what he does best: praising God, encouraging and assuring us that there is hope for Haiti and the future of the ministry. In his words, “The best is yet to come!”
